PROJECT LEAD THE WAY

The courses heavily influenced me majoring in computer science. PLTW combined both my love for science and math and taught me how to use them both simultaneously in real world scenarios.

St. Petersburg Catholic High School has long placed great importance on mathematics and sciences. In 2016, SPCHS joined the growing number of schools implementing a student focused teaching methodology called Project Lead the Way.

The implementation of PLTW programs at SPCHS represents a sizable financial investment in academic programs. Costs include rigorous, 80-hour teacher trainings for each course offered, annual dues and the cost of course materials. This substantial investment into the PLTW Engineering and Biomedical Science programs is just one example of how SPCHS is advancing academics.

The admissions process for the PLTW programs is for students who score in the top 50% of their class in STEM. Students who show earnest interest in the courses may be granted admission regardless.

BENEFITS OF PLTW
