High School Placement Test (HSPT)

All incoming 9th grade applicants are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) as part of the application process.

The HSPT primarily serves as a tool for course placement. Prospective students may only take the test once. A supplemental writing portion will also be administered by St. Petersburg Catholic High School. Scores may be shared with other schools using the same exam.

Applicants must submit an application to take the HSPT at St. Petersburg Catholic High School. If you have not yet applied, click below to create an account and apply.

*Testing accommodations are available if a student has a current IEP, 504 or Student Support Plan (SSP). In order to receive accommodations we require that the student's current school or the parent/guardian provide an electronic copy no later than one week prior to the HSPT test date.

St. Petersburg Catholic High School offers the Pre-High School Placement Test (Pre-HSPT) in the spring for current 7th graders. The Pre-HSPT is intended to help students become more familiar with the different sections of the HSPT under timed conditions. A non-refundable test administration fee must be submitted to St. Petersburg Catholic High School in order to take the Pre-HSPT. Since this is a practice, testing accommodations will not be available.

The Pre-HSPT Test date is not available at this time. Please submit a request for information below if you would like to receive updates
