REQUIRED SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS 2026
Required Summer Assignments
Summer is a great time to relax and recharge, but it’s also important to keep your mind active! All students are responsible for completing the English and Math summer assignments associated with their assigned courses, as listed below. In addition, students enrolled in any AP course are required to complete all assigned AP summer coursework for each AP class in which they are enrolled.
All summer work must be completed by the first day of school, August 10, and the assignments listed below will be entered into the gradebook and counted toward students' grades in August.
Returning students: Please refer to the course placement decisions and recommendations discussed with your school counselor during the course selection process. The summer assignments you complete should correspond to the courses in which you have been approved and placed for the 2026–2027 school year. If you have questions regarding your English and Math course placements, please contact counselingoffice@spchs.org prior to beginning the assignments.
Please note that final schedules will not be available until early August as the counselors are balancing classes and making final changes. Please refrain from emailing unless you do not remember what English and Math courses you were placed in.
ENGLISH
Select your assigned 2026–2027 class from the menu and complete the required activities by the listed deadlines. *Please note that some parts of the assignment may have different due dates. Not all English classes have a summer assignment. Please check the list below for required assignments. If your course is not listed, then no summer work is required.
MATH
Not all math classes have a summer assignment. Please check the list below for required assignments. If your course is not listed, then no summer work is required.
New students will be required to create their SARA account using a personal email address. Their first and last name must match the name used for their official school enrollment. Please note that the school will not have access to student accounts, so it is important to keep a record of the email address and password used during account setup.
AP COURSES
In addition to any AP course-specific assignments, AP students are also required to complete English and Math summer work, if assigned above. AP summer assignments were emailed directly to students by their assigned teachers before the end of the school year. Current students should check their inboxes for those emails. New transfer students will be contacted by the Counseling Department regarding any required AP summer assignments.
The list below includes the courses that have required summer work. If an AP course is not listed, no summer assignment is required for that course.
