Since Catholic education first made its appearance in the city of St. Petersburg in 1930 with St. Paul’s, the founders envisioned an education affordable to all families, particularly low-income and working class families. This vision has been actualized throughout our history, as many graduates tell stories of how Catholic education has become a means of upward social mobility for their families, providing an intellectual, spiritual, social, and moral foundation for future success.
Today, our school is administered and enriched by the charism of the Salesians of Don Bosco that is dedicated to serving the young and the poor. In the spirit of St. John Bosco, we make every effort to ensure that any family who desires a Catholic, high school education may receive one. It is a reflection of our Catholic, Salesian mission that over 48% of our current students receive some form of scholarship and/or need-based aid. This aid defrays the cost of tuition for families who may not otherwise have the means to attend St. Petersburg Catholic High School.
I ask that you help us continue this mission through your donation to our newly established Friends of St. John Bosco Fund, where your gift will be restricted to financial aid. We are anticipating the incoming Class of 2021 to be our largest in years, so your gift, of any amount, will have an immediate impact on the lives of our current and future students.
If you are interested in establishing a scholarship in your name or as a tribute/memorial gift, please contact Dr. Daniel Zepp, Director of Advancement at firstname.lastname@example.org or (727) 344-4065 x222.
