Juan Garcia
Growing up, Mr. Garcia dreamt of becoming president of Puerto Rico. So, Mr. Garcia earned two Master's Degrees from Ohio University and the University of Mississippi and was a Peace Corp volunteer to prepare himself for it. Now Puerto Rico is not a Republic yet. He was the Graduate Student of the Year at Ole Miss. Mr. Garcia also ran “Midnight Basketball”, ran an island-wide basketball program in Puerto Rico, and founded the Latin Student Organization at Ohio University. He likes his job because he gets to help influence students by sharing his experiences with dyslexia and other various learning disabilities. Mr. Garcia feels very proud when students return years later and let him know what a great influence he was on their lives by being open and honest with them and telling them things they may not have wanted, but needed, to hear at the time. In his free time, Mr. Garcia enjoys spending time with his family and cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
